1. A trusty replacement

   My original WS1093 transmitter lasted 8 years but the recent cold snap, followed by a quick warming managed to kill it off. It had a good innings.
   
   After some tests to make sure that the old transmitter was at fault, I ordered my replacement which showed a waiting time of several weeks. However, it showed up just over a week later (with Christmas in between order date and shipping date).Well done Greenfrog! I was impressed that the replacement came with a new Stevenson screen and the swap-over was easy to do.
   
   My receiver picked up the new transmitter easily and has now been working for just over 2 weeks with wind, rain and temperature data all being received perfectly.
   
   The only downside has been that I no longer appear to be receiving automatic time signals over-the-air as I used to. Therefore I have had to set the time and date on my receiver manually. This doesn't affect my readings on the computer or those uploaded to the internet but does mean that I'll probably have to make manual adjustments for GMT/BST to see the correct time indoors (and my receiver is losing about 4 seconds per week). I'm not sure why the time data isn't being received as the location of the new transmitter is the same as for the old transmitter but it's only a minor niggle.
   
   Anyway, if you just need a new transmitter - I'd definitely recommend! Hopefully I'll get a few more years from my Weather station.

2. Sorted outdoor temperature fault

   The original unit gave up sending reliable temperature readings after about 5 years. So, I had to order a new unit as the components/ circuit board was not available. I swapped it over and everything is good now.

   After many months without my weather station working I came to the conclusion that it must be the transmitter. After looking on many sites I found what I was looking for and ordered it. Arrived very speedily and well packed so far very happy. Out with the ladders, changing the unit was very easy and great joy worked immediately. Now have my weather station working perfectly

5. Good value and great service

   I have had WS1093 for several years, reliable and the big thing for me is it connects via USB to my computer enabling me to use Cumulus to log weather data. Have replaced worn out sensors and now replacing transmitter not because not working but getting old. Transmitter is kept in shade giving me true temp readings. Excellent service and delivery times from Greenfrog.

6. Good value and quality

   A two year old transmitter had started to consume much more current than normal and was draining the batteries in a week rather than a year. I found this original replacement part on Greenfrog Scientific and was delighted to see it was at a sensible price and was available for immediate delivery. The part arrived two days later. It is exactly the same as the old part and the weather station is working correctly again taking only microamps instead of milliamps. The batteries should last at least a year now!

7. Great wireless connectivity; temperatures biased,high in sun

   This was the second unit I have purchased. The first lasted around 5 years in the field before developing a fault with the raingauge electronics on the unit (rather than the gauge itself) and then finally the transmitter itself. I was unable to repair it myself (basic electronic components) so purchased a whole unit. Good value for money and service from GreenFrog excellent.
   
   However, the radiation shield around the unit does not prevent the unit from reading biased high temperatures when in direct sunlight. Even painting the shield white rather than the original dull grey does not solve this.

8. Ideal replacement transmitter

   I bought this as a replacement transmitter for a 10 year old Aercus weather station where the existing transmitter would not stay logged onto the receiver.
   This unit was an exact replacement, reasonably priced, essay to install & the station is working normally again. Very pleased with the purchase.

   The old transmitter stopped recording rainfall and after a few months also refused to pair with the receiver. This replacement worked fine.
